Abstract:
This rule would require applicants for Digital Instrumentation and Control Systems to assess the defense-in-depth and diversity of proposed digital instrumentation and control systems to demonstrate that vulnerabilities to common mode failures have been adequately addressed. This is staff-initiated activity which was discussed in SRM-SECY-93-087, Item 18. |

That integrated strategy will also address the need for rulemaking in this area. In the meantime, this particular rulemaking will be discontinued. | |
