CFPB RIN: 3170-AB00 Publication ID: Spring 2020
Title: E-Sign Act Requirements
Abstract:

The Bureau is considering the application of the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (15 U.S.C. 7001 et seq.) in the context of certain of the Bureau’s consumer financial services regulations, particularly the credit card provisions in Regulation Z.  Aspects of its application were raised in responses to the Bureau’s 2018 Calls for Evidence and in other outreach the Bureau has conducted since then.  As the Bureau continues to monitor market developments in this area, the Bureau will evaluate possible policy responses to issues identified, including potential rulemaking.  In addition, the Bureau will consider whether guidance or other action might be appropriate.
