Title: ●Federal Employees' Retirement System: Change of the Method of Publication of Certain Present Value Conversion Factors and of the Factor for Installment Payments of the Basic Employee Death Benefit 
Abstract: The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) proposes to amend 5 CFR part 843 by removing the tables of present value factors which appear at appendix A to subpart C of part 843 of title 5, Code of Federal Regulations, and by removing the factor which appears at 5 CFR 843.309(b)(2) that is used to compute the payment of the basic employee death benefit in 36 equal installments, when that option is elected. The deletion of appendix A, the removal of the associated reference to appendix A in subpart C of part 843, and the removal of the factor used to compute the payment of the basic employee death benefit in 36 monthly installments will have no substantive effect. In the future, OPM will announce any changes to the tables of present value factors that currently appear at appendix A and the factor used to compute the payment of the basic employee death benefit in 36 equal installments, that currently appears at 5 CFR 843.309(b)(2), by publishing notices in the Federal Register.
