Abstract: The Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia (PSA) is an independent federal entity within the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA). On February 2, 2011, the Criminal Code Amendment Act of 2010 was enacted by the Council of the District of Columbia (D.C.) (D.C. Act 18-0722). Among other things, the legislation changed the name of PSA to move the reference to the "District of Columbia" from the beginning of the Agency name to the end of it, to make it consistent with the names of other federal and D.C. criminal justice agencies operating in the jurisdiction. As a result, the Agency seal is being revised to reflect the name change.
