Title: Disclosure of Payments by Resource Extraction Issuers
Abstract:

The Commission adopted rules to implement section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which added section 13(q) to the Exchange Act. Section 13(q) requires the Commission to adopt rules requiring resource extraction issuers to disclose in an annual report of the resource extraction issuer payments made to foreign governments or the Federal Government for the purpose of commercial development of oil, natural gas or minerals. The Commission had previously adopted a rule implementing section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act that was vacated and remanded to the Commission by the District Court for the District of Columbia in July 2013.
