| Title: ●Contracts for Small Businesses Located in Disaster Areas, and Surplus Personal Property for Small Businesses Located in Disaster Areas, Puerto Rico, and Covered Territory Businesses | |
|
Abstract:
The Small Business Administration (SBA) is proposing to amend its regulations governing contracting preferences for small businesses in disaster areas. This action would streamline key definitions and revise the criteria for Federal agencies to receive procurement gooling credit for such contracts. This action is necessary to reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses, eliminate overly prescriptive requirements, and strengthen the incentives for Federal agencies to award contracts to local firms in support of disaster recovery. The rule would simplify the program, reduce administrative burdens, and increase Federal contracting opportunities for small businesses in disaster areas, thereby aiding local economic recovery. |
