Title: Regulatory Capital Rule: Amendments Applicable to Large Banking Organizations and to Banking Organizations with Significant Trading Activity (Docket No: R-1813)
Abstract:

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Board), and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) (collectively the agencies) are inviting public comment on a notice of proposed rulemaking (proposal) that would substantially revise the capital requirements applicable to large banking organizations and to banking organizations with significant trading activity.  The revisions set forth in the proposal would improve the calculation of risk-based capital requirements to better reflect risk and to make the framework more simple and transparent by introducing new standardized (i.e., not model based) methodologies for calculating risk-weighted assets and by reducing the use of models for calculating risk-weighted assets.
