Abstract:

This rule amends the FAR by returning it to its statutory and executive order origins, rewriting it in plain language, and retaining policies for sound procurement. It is part of the implementation of Executive Order 14275, Restoring Common Sense to Federal Procurement, issued April 15, 2025, and includes proposed revisions to FAR parts 34, Major System Acquisition; 42, Contract Administration and Audit Services; and 48, Value Engineering.
