Abstract:

This rule amends the FAR by returning it to its statutory and executive order origins, rewriting it in plain language, and retaining policies for sound procurement. It is part of the implementation of Executive Order 14275, Restoring Common Sense to Federal Procurement, issued April 15, 2025, and includes proposed revisions to FAR parts 8, Required Sources of Supplies and Services; 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services; 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures; 15, Contracting by Negotiation; 38, Federal Supply Schedule Contracting; and 44, Subcontracting Policies and Procedures.
