DOJ/DEA RIN: 1117-AA43 Publication ID: Spring 1997
Title: ●Listed Chemicals; Proposed Thresholds for Iodine and Hydrochloric Gas (Hydrogen Chloride Gas)
Abstract: DEA is proposing amending its regulations to establish thresholds for iodine and hydrochloric gas (hydrogen chloride gas). The Comprehensive Methamphetamine Control Act of 1996 placed iodine and hydrochloric gas (hydrogen chloride gas) under control in List II of DEA's chemical controls. DEA may establish thresholds for transactions; if the transaction, or cumulative transactions in a calender month, is less than the threshold amount, then the transactions are not regulated. The thresholds identify for the regulated industry which transactions are subject to regulation.
