Title: Offstream Storage of Colorado River Water and Interstate Marketing of Storage Credits in the Lower Division States
Abstract: The proposed rule will allow entities that hold Colorado River water use entitlements in Arizona, California, or Nevada to: (1) enter into interstate storage agreements with each other; (2) store Colorado River water off the mainstream of the Colorado River; (3) take delivery of the stored water in the future for beneficial consumptive use. The rule will facilitate more efficient use of the limited Colorado River water resource and increase the flexibility and certainty in Colorado River water management.
