Title: Guidelines for Best Available Retrofit Technology (BART)
Abstract: To meet the Clean Air Act's requirements, final regional haze regulations were published in the Federal Register on July 1, 1999 (64 FR 35714). These regulations include, in section 51.308(e), a requirement for best available retrofit technology (BART) for certain types of existing stationary sources of air pollutants. In the preamble to the regional haze rule, we committed to issuing further guidelines to clarify the BART requirements. The purpose of this rulemaking is to provide those BART guidelines.
