Abstract: We are clarifying our rules for assigned SSNs to foreign academic students in INS classification status F.1. In addition to meeting SSA's requirements to provide evidence of age, identity, legal alien status, and work authorization, F-1 students will also be required to present evidence that employment has been secured before we will assign the F-1 student an SSN card that is valid for work. | |
