Title: ●Protective Force Personnel Medical, Physical Fitness, Training, and Access Authorization Standards
Abstract: These amendments ensure that DOE Protective Force (PF) medical and fitness requirements are consistent with the Privacy Act and 10 CFR part 1008, and with policy changes made since the publication of the last version of this rule. The amendments also ensure that PF personnel are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and only on their ability to perform the essential functions of their positions without posing a direct threat to themselves or others, the facility, or the general public. The amendments further ensure that reasonable accommodations are considered before there is a determination that an individual cannot perform the essential functions of a particular position. Finally, the amendments provide new medical review processes that are available to provide for due process should PF personnel be disqualified from medical certification.
