Title: ●Regulatory Amendment 20 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Snapper-Grouper Fishery of the South Atlantic Region
Abstract: The purpose of this amendment is to adjust the rebuilding strategy, acceptable biological catch, annual catch limit, maximum sustainable yield, minimum stock size threshold, and optimum yield, and to revise management measures for the snowy grouper component of the snapper-grouper fishery. These adjustments address the recent stock assessment results for snowy grouper based on data through 2012. The actions in this amendment are necessary to prevent overfishing and continue rebuilding the snowy grouper stock while minimizing, to the extent practicable, adverse social and economic effects to the participants in the snowy grouper component of the snapper-grouper fishery.
