Title: Revising Aspects of SSA's Vocational Rehabilitation Program (929P)
Abstract:

We propose to amend our regulations to improve the cost effectiveness and outcomes of the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Cost Reimbursement payment provisions in 20 CFR part 404 and 20 CFR part 416, remove obsolete provisions relating to the referral of disabled or blind beneficiaries for VR services, and better align the program administration with the goal of the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program so that participating beneficiaries will receive the support they need to achieve financial independence to the extent possible.
