View Rule

The rule makes technical corrections to NPS regulations in parts 2, 3, and 7.  The rule fixes typos and incorrect cross-references in parts 2 and 3.  The rule removes a firearms provision in part 2 that was vacated by court order in 2009, and replaces it with language consistent with current Federal law governing the possession of firearms in National Park unites.  The rule clarifies that non-conflicting State boating safety laws are adopted in part 3 and that violating a provision of adopted U.S. Coast Guard or State law is prohibited.  The rule removes an outdated reference in 36 CFR 7.48 to a designated airstrip at Lake Mead National Recreation Area that has been closed since 1987.
