Title: Modification of the Daily Bag Limits and to Establish At-Sea Fillet Requirements for the U.S. West Coast Recreational Pacific Bluefin Tuna Fishery | |
Abstract:
This action implemented regulations recommended by the Pacific Fishery Management Council that imposed a two-fish daily bag limit, with a maximum multi-day possession limit of six fish, for recreational harvest of north Pacific bluefin tuna. The daily bag and possession limits applied to U.S. anglers fishing in the exclusive economic zone of the U.S. West Coast and/or in Mexico's waters and returning to U.S. ports. The rule was expected to reduce mortality on north Pacific bluefin tuna and contribute to the recovery of the stock, which is overfished and subject to overfishing. |
