Title: Domestic Abuse Involving DoD Military and Certain Affiliated Personnel
Abstract:

This rule establishes, implements, and updates domestic abuse policies, and identifies and assigns responsibilities for preventing and responding to domestic abuse. It provides guidance for implementing a coordinated community response involving multiple offices and agencies at military installations working in coordination with the surrounding civilian community. This rule promotes policy for standardization in the delivery of Family Advocacy Program services to victims of domestic abuse involving an active duty service member and is being published as an interim final rule to provide required updates in DoD policy and procedures that impact the public. Timely publication of this rule ensures that interventions based on current research and best practices are standardized in DoD policy to assure that the most effective and beneficial services are being provided to victims. The revisions to this rule will be reported in future status updates as part of DoD's retrospective plan under Executive Order 13563, completed in August 2011. DoD's full plan can be accessed at: http://www.regulations.gov/#!docketDetail;D=DOD-2011-OS-0036.
