Title: ●Protection of Stratospheric Ozone: Refrigerant Management Regulations for Small Cans of Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Refrigerant
Abstract:

This action is a correction to a recently issued rule related to the sale of refrigerant under section 608 of the Clean Air Act. The sales of small cans of motor vehicle air conditioner (MVAC) refrigerant is limited to certified technicians with the exception of small cans sold to the do-it-yourself market that are equipped with self-sealing valves. As was intended in the recently issued rule, this action would explicitly allow for the continued sell-through of existing inventory of small cans that were manufactured or imported before January 1, 2018, that are not equipped with a self-sealing valve.
