Title: ●Labeling Relief; Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products | |
Abstract:
On December 12, 2016, EPA issued a final rule to implement the Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act (title VI of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)). Following publication of the final rule, stakeholders raised concern to the Agency that the requirement at 40 CFR 770.45(f) may give rise to unintended supply chain disruptions as the compliance deadline established in the December 2016 final rule approaches. EPA intends to issue a direct final rule and parallel proposed rule that would clarify requirements for labeling composite wood products and finished goods made entirely of composite wood products as TSCA title VI compliant to address these stakeholder concerns in advance of the compliance deadline. |
