Title: ●Removal of Flight Plan Requirements for Commercial SFRA Operations at Grand Canyon National Park
Abstract:

This action would remove mandates for all air tour operators conducting air tours over the Grand Canyon National Park to file a flight plan for each leg of each tour flight conducted in accordance with special air traffic rules. On February 1, 2005, this rule became obsolete and no longer serves the original intent. This was a result of the outsourcing of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight service station (FSS) responsibilities to Lockheed-Martin, a contract that did not include a provision for retention of those flight plans had occurred prior to the contract award.
