Title: Implementing the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 | |
Abstract:
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) proposes rules to implement the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). Under NEPA, each Federal department and agency conducting or supporting public works activities which affect the environment must implement the policies established under existing law. NEPA's basic policy is to assure that all branches of government give proper consideration to the environment prior to undertaking any major Federal action that significantly affects the environment. These rules will ensure the NEA's integration of the NEPA process at the earliest possible time to reflect environmental values. |
