Abstract:

After receiving and reviewing public comments, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issues this Order finalizing DOE’s determination that the 2016 edition of the ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1: Energy Standard for Buildings, Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings improves energy efficiency in buildings subject to the code compared to the 2013 edition of ASHRAE Standard 90.1.

Overall Description of Deadline: Under 42 U.S.C. 6833(h)(2)(A), not later that 1-year after the date of approval of each subsequent revision of the ASHRAE Standard, the Secretary shall determine whether the revised code would improve energy efficiency in commercial buildings and must publish notice of such determination.
