Title: Air Quality: Revision to Definition of Volatile Organic Compounds--Exclusion of cis-1,1,1,4,4,4-Hexafluorobut-2-ene (HFO-1336mzz-Z) | |
Abstract:
This action would revise EPA's definition of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). The action would exclude hexafluorobut-2-ene (also known as HFO-1336mzz-Z) from the definition of VOC on the basis that this compound makes a negligible contribution to tropospheric ozone formation. The VOC exemption petition was submitted by E.I. DuPont de Nemours on 2/4/14. This action reduces burden because it relieves the industry from characterizing and tracking certain information associated with this particular compound. |
