Title: Debt Collection, Debt Settlement, and Assignment of Payments | |
Abstract:
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) are revising debt collection and settlement regulations to conform with the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996 (DCIA) and the Federal Claims Collection Standards (FCCS) to consolidate the FSA debt collection and settlement regulations, and to remove FSA from the shared regulations in the CFR chapter used by rural development agencies. In addition, the changes would make it easier for farmers to find and understand the debt settlement regulations and result in saving them time and reducing their administrative burden. |
