Title: ●Indebtedness of Military Personnel 
Abstract:

This final rule will remove the DoD part which was promulgated under the direction of 5 U.S.C. 5520a, "Garnishment of Pay," and addressed policies and assigned responsibilities governing delinquent indebtedness of members of the military services. This part is closely related to 32 CFR 113, "Indebtedness Procedures of Military Personnel," which details the process by which a third party can try to collect valid debts from military members through wage garnishment. Unlike 32 CFR part 113, this part does not impose any burden on, nor imparts any relevant knowledge on, the public; therefore, it can be removed. Guidance for this program is internal to DoD and is comprehensively addressed in DoD Instruction 1344.09.
