Title: Removing Regulatory Barriers for Automated Driving Systems 
Abstract: This notice seeks comment on existing motor vehicle regulatory barriers to the introduction and certification of automated driving systems. NHTSA is developing the appropriate analysis of requirements that are necessary to maintain existing levels of safety while enabling innovative vehicle designs and removing or modifying those requirements that would no longer be appropriate if a human driver will not be operating the vehicle. NHTSA previously published a Federal Register notice requesting public comment on January 18, 2018.
