Title: International Fisheries; Pacific Tuna Fisheries; 2019-2020 Commercial Fishing Restrictions for Pacific Bluefin Tuna in the Eastern Pacific Ocean | |
Abstract:
The Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, to which the United States is a member, adopted a binding resolution in 2018 which included a commercial Pacific bluefin tuna catch limit for the United States applicable to 2019 and 2020. Similar catch limits have been in place since 2015. Pacific bluefin tuna is severely overfished throughout the Pacific Ocean, and commercial catch limits are necessary to aid in rebuilding of the stock. This rulemaking would implement the Commission's action. |
