View Rule

This final rule will remove the Department of Defense's regulation concerning the Department of the Army Privacy Program. The Department of Defense will publish a revised Privacy program rule as a result of the requirements of the Office of Management and Budget Circular A-108, "Federal Agency Responsibilities for Review, Reporting, and Publication Under the Privacy Act," dated December 23, 2016. When the DoD Privacy program rule is revised, it will include DoD component information and remove the requirement for component supplementary rules. The DoD will have one DoD-level rule for the Privacy program that contains all the codified information required for the Department. This part will then be removed from the CFR. This removal supports a recommendation of the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
