Abstract:

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) proposes to amend the regulations governing the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) program to revise the definition of a stillborn child. While the current definition is based on the weight of the stillborn child and only considers the gestation period if the weight of the child is unknown, VA proposes to revise the definition of a stillborn child to provide that either the weight or the gestation period may be relied upon to satisfy the definition.
