View Rule

This rule discusses the process a third party can use to collect valid debts from military members through wage garnishment. The rule will be amended to delete references to 32 CFR part 112, "Indebtedness of Military Personnel," which is being repealed. This rule will instead refer to DoD Instruction 1344.09, "Indebtedness of Military Personnel," which addresses the procedures and responsibilities internal to DoD. The appendices in this rule, which are sample forms, will also be deleted. The website where the forms are located will be referenced in this rule, instead of showing sample forms, so that the most current forms will be available and used. Otherwise, this rule is still in effect and available to the public. The amendment of 32 CFR part 113 supports a recommendation of the DoD Regulatory Reform Task Force.
