Title: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Requirement for Interstate Data Matching to Prevent Multiple Issuances | |
Abstract:
Section 4011 of the 2018 Farm Bill amended the Food and Nutrition Act to require the establishment of an interstate data system, to be known as the National Accuracy Clearinghouse (NAC), that State agencies will use to prevent multiple issuances of SNAP benefits to an individual by more than one State agency simultaneously. Interim final regulations to carry out the provisions are required within 18 months of the enactment of the 2018 Farm Bill such that the initial match and corresponding actions shall occur within three years. Section 4009 requires State agencies to pursue clarification and verification, if applicable, on information received from NAC data matches. This interim rule will meet these provisions. |
