Title: Amendments to Civil Monetary Penalty Law Regarding Grants, Contracts, and Information Blocking | |
Abstract:
The proposed regulation is a technical modification of 42 CFR 1003 and 1005 to align the express coverage provisions under which the Office of Inspector General exercises its authority to impose civil monetary penalties of that regulation with the provisions of the 21st Century Cures Act establishing the Department of Health and Human Services's new civil monetary penalties authorities. However, the prior promulgation of these regulations, which specifically identifies the statutes to which it applies, was made prior to the passage of the Cures Act. |
