Title: Removal of Certain Explosive Chemicals From the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards | |
Abstract:
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is considering removing all 49 Division 1.1 explosive chemicals of interest from Appendix A of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards regulations. In January 2021, CISA published a notice soliciting comment through an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) on the advisability of removing Division 1.1 explosives from Appendix A to the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulations located at 6 CFR part 27. The chemicals that CISA is considering removing from Appendix A are also subject to security regulations implemented by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). CISA will review and consider all comments received and then determine the next appropriate step for this rulemaking. |
