Title: Strengthening Transparency in Pivotal Science Underlying Significant Regulatory Actions and Influential Scientific Information
Abstract:

This action established how EPA would consider the availability of dose-response data underlying pivotal science used in its significant regulatory actions and influential scientific information. This action also required EPA to identify and make publicly available the science that served as the basis for informing a significant regulatory action at the proposed or draft stage to the extent practicable; reinforced the applicability of peer review requirements for pivotal science; and provided criteria for the Administrator to exempt certain studies from the requirements of this rulemaking. This rule was vacated on February 1, 2021 by the United States District Court for the District of Montana.
