Abstract: This rulemaking would relieve restrictions and enhance safety of the integration of unmanned aircraft, and for certain manned aircraft, into the national airspace system, by better aligning airworthiness certification standards and rigor with the level of risk based on the aircraft's operation. This rulemaking would implement, the requirements of section 345 (Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Safety Standards), section 347 (Special Authority for Certain UAS) and section 581 (Space Support Vehicles) of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018.
