Abstract:
This notice seeks public comment on considerations to update and modernize Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, Vehicle Lighting to facilitate new designs and emerging technologies to maintain and improve safety. Specifically, the requirements and test procedures for, among others, replaceable light sources, dusk sensors, plastic optical materials, semiautomatic beam switching, headlamp mounting orientation, minimum lamp size requirements, and harmonization to international standards. |
