Title: Self-Regulation of Class II Gaming Activities | |
Abstract:
The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC or Commission) is considering regulations to simplify and expand its procedures controlling the self-regulation of Class II gaming. If a tribe fulfills certain criteria, the Commission must issue a certificate of self-regulation to that tribe pursuant to 25 CFR 518.5. The Commission seeks to facilitate the speed by which an Indian tribe may receive a certificate of self-regulation and address the regulatory functions the Commission’s Office of Self-Regulation. |
