Title: Replacement of Fluorinated Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (DFARS Case 2020-D011) | |
Abstract:
DoD is proposing to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement to implement section 322 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020. Section 322 prohibits DoD from procuring fire-fighting foam containing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, unless used solely on board oceangoing vessels, after October 1, 2023, and prohibits the use of fluorinated foam on military installations by October 2024, with the option for the Secretary of Defense to extend the date for up to one year using a waiver authority. |
