Title: Test Procedure for Metal Halide Lamp Fixtures | |
Abstract:
Consistent with the requirements of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA), as amended, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is examining whether to amend the current test procedures for metal halide lamp fixtures (MHLFs). Based on an initial assessment, DOE has tentatively proposed to amend its test procedure for MHLFs. DOE proposes to incorporate, by reference, the latest versions of relevant industry standards; clarify the selection of reference lamps used for testing; reorganize the content of the test procedure for better readability and clarity; and revise the standby mode test procedure for MHLFs. Once completed, this rulemaking will fulfill DOE’s statutory obligation to either propose amended test procedures for this equipment or determine that the existing test procedures do not need to be amended. |
