Title: Addition of 1-bromopropane to Clean Air Act Section 112 HAP List | |
Abstract:
On December 22, 2021, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator signed the final rule to add 1-bromopropane (1-BP) to the Clean Air Act (CAA) list of hazardous air pollutants (HAP). This action is completed. The Agency received two petitions to add 1- bromopropane (1-BP) to the list of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP) under section 112 of the Clean Air Act (CAA). After review and comment, the EPA found that the petitioners met the requirements contained in CAA section 112(b)(3) and granted the petition on June 18, 2020 (85 FR 36851). This subsequent action added 1-BP (CAS 106-94-5) to the CAA section 112(b)(1) list of HAP by modifying 40 CFR part 63, subpart C. This is the first time that a pollutant has been added to the HAP list since the 1990 CAA was promulgated. |
