Title: ●Uniform Procedures for State Highway Safety Grant Programs | |
Abstract:
This rulemaking would amend 23 CFR part 1300 to implement the amendments in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, enacted as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, (Pub. L. 117-58) to 23 U.S.C. 402, 23 U.S.C. 405 and section 1906 of SAFETEA-LU (Pub. L. 109-59), as amended. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provides formula grants to States for highway safety programs under the Highway Safety Program (23 U.S.C. 402), the National Priority Safety Programs (23 U.S.C. 405), and Racial Profiling Data Collection Grants (section 1906) statutes. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law made some revisions to these existing grant program statutes, which are carried out in accordance with implementing regulations. The rulemaking will explain the statutory elements for the triennial highway safety plan, the criteria and annual application requirements for grants under the National Priority Safety Programs, and post-award administrative requirements. |
