Title: Modernization Updates to the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch 
Abstract:

Overall, the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch at 5 CFR part 2635 implement certain provisions of Executive Order 12674 on Principles of Ethical Conduct, as modified by Executive Order 12731, and the Ethics Reform Act of 1989 (Public Law 101-194), as amended. The proposed amendments seek to update the Standards based on the Office of Government Ethics' experience gained from application of the regulation since its inception. The proposed amendments would also incorporate past interpretive guidance, add and update regulatory examples, improve clarity, update citations, and make technical corrections.
