Title: Redesignation of Stark County, Ohio for the 2008 Lead (Pb) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) | |
Abstract:
In 2011, EPA designated Stark County, Ohio as unclassifiable/attainment because available information did not indicate that the air quality in this area exceeded the 2008 Lead (Pb) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). EPA is considering a discretionary redesignation for portion of Canton, Ohio in northeastern Stark County from “unclassifiable/attainment” to “nonattainment” for the 2008 Pb NAAQS under Clean Air Act section 107(d)(3) based on current monitoring data and other air quality factors. If the area is redesignated to nonattainment, the state will be required to submit a State Implementation Plan that identifies control measures to bring the area into attainment with the 2008 lead NAAQS. |
