Title: ●Update to Air Carrier Definitions
Abstract: This action would broadly enable powered-lift to obtain a part 119 certificate so they can conduct air carrier and commercial operations. Parts 110 and 119 of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), currently only contemplate airplanes and helicopters. This action would broaden certain definitions in part 110 to ensure the appropriate sets of rules apply to powered-lift to allow these aircraft to be used in air carrier and commercial operations. This action would also update certain basic requirements that apply to air carrier oversight, such as the contents of operations specifications and the qualifications applicable to certain management personnel within part 119 to incorporate powered lift.
