Overall Description of Deadline: Under the Credit Union Governance Modernization Act of 2022 (enacted March 2022), the NCUA has 18 months following the date of enactment to develop a policy for which a member may be expelled for cause and implement such policy through rulemaking. A final rule must be issued by September 2023, following a proposed rule.
