OPM RIN: 3206-AO35 Publication ID: Fall 2022
Title: Compensation During an Evacuation or Authorized Departure
Abstract:

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is issuing a proposed rule to reorganize, simplify, and provide improved clarity to the principles found within the regulations under subpart D of part 550, title 5, Code of Federal Regulations, that govern the evacuation or authorized departure of Federal government employees from an official duty station.

These regulations only apply to evacuations due to adverse weather, natural disaster, and civil unrest, within the continental United States or its territories or possessions.  OPM is developing separate regulations, under a different rulemaking initiative, to address public health emergencies, such as pandemics, which create multiple workforce management challenges, including social distancing.
