Title: Eligibility Changes to the Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program
Abstract:

Section 877 of the National Defense Authorization Act 2020, Public Law 116-92 (12/20/2019), amends the eligibility for Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loans to essential employees who have been ordered to perform active service for a period of more than 30 consecutive days. This change should increase the number of businesses who would be eligible to apply for assistance by removing the requirement that the essential employee must have been called up during a period of military conflict. The change will now expand eligibility to include those essential employees who have been ordered to perform active service, including full-time National Guard duty, for a period of more than 30 consecutive days.
