Title: National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants Risk and Technology Review; Reconsideration, CAA Section 112(d)(6) Technology Review; Oil and Natural Gas Sector | |
Abstract:
On August 16, 2012, EPA completed its residual risk and technology review (RTR) of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) that regulate hazardous air pollutants (HAP) from new and existing stationary sources in the oil and natural gas production and transmission/storage major source categories. The 2012 rule amended the NESHAP (40 CFR part 63, subparts HH and HHH) promulgated in 1999 for these two oil and natural gas major source categories. On October 15, 2012, EPA received several petitions requesting that we reconsider, clarify, and amend the residual risk review, the technology review, and certain provisions of the final 2012 rule. In this action, EPA will propose to reconsider certain aspects of the 2012 RTR rule in response to the petitions for reconsideration. In addition, EPA will conduct a technology review, which is required every eight years under the Clean Air Act. |
